the other night the baylens and parks joined us for a spam party at home. angie made kimchi jigae and tracy brought spam sushi. mmm... we love spam!

highlight of the day: i won a coffee with this morning's steeped tea. there to help me celebrate the occasion was boo.

after discovering the tastiness of aloe drink at waymen & lynna's, it's now become a regular item on the grocery list at our home, too. the cheapest we've found it so far is at save-on for $1.99 per bottle. try it, you might like it!

i love it when angie makes her crabpot, it's so choice. last night we enjoyed it again, this time with the choi sisters. julia took the biggest piece first, so the rest of us were left to fight for the rest. best part? the melted butter dip...mmm. worst part? the melted butter dip. especially as you see the uneaten portion solidify and think about what you've just digested. mmm.

we checked out malaysian hut the other day, after a recommendation by a fellow bruneian. it was kinda in the middle of nowhere in surrey, and the first time we drove right by it. but after we settled into the little mom and pop place, we were pleasantly surprised by the dishes that we ordered. in fact, i think this is the best kuching laksa i've ever had that wasn't made by my mom, sister or angie. (it's that secret paste that you can't get here and that no one knows what's inside!)

mmm... been having some consistently good meals at copa (cambie & king ed) lately. my comfort food order: yu dahn hor and mango red tea with pearl and coconut. oishhhhhhh!

our friend jake told us about the g-men ramen shop in continental plaza in richmond. the first two times we went they were closed. weird hours. but we finally were able to sample their food, and it was oishii yo! very traditional shoyu and miso ramen style.
