having a baby during the olympics pretty much guarantees you’ll miss most of the action on the streets! but we were lucky to get a pair of tickets to the men’s qualification round games through our good friend mincha, and made it out to watch the slovakia vs norway game last night…

we had great seats just up from the norway bench and saw most of the goals in front of us…

our home team’s pavol demitra was even more smooth-skating and quick up close…

a head injury to slovakia’s bartecko about half-way through the first period stopped play for quite some time…

i decided to sit with team norway for a bit, you know, just to encourage them…

chara is very tall. norway’s forwards kept trying to hit him…

and then a beach ball landed on the ice from the stands… stayed there a while, too…

there were some interesting characters in the crowd, like this flash gordon slovakian-canada dude…

and… i’m not sure what this is actually…

there were some hot mamas as well, and this one in particular caught my eye… i need to get her number…

some china dudes were waving their moose-binoculars at every goal, probably trying to make some money selling them, no doubt…

and then satan scored the winning goal and it was time to go home.
